Outdoor Wicker Furniture
by dbking

Benefits of outdoor wicker furniture

Wicker is a slender grass like shrub that is woven to make furniture. The individual blades are woven or laced together to form wickerwork, which is then woven around a frame to form tables, chairs and sofas. Some people confuse wicker furniture with willow, rattan or other synthetic materials. Wicker is in fact a material but in the course of time, many people refer to wicker furniture as a particular style of making furniture (wickerwork) and not to the material as such.

Wicker furniture has been in use from ancient times. The Egyptians have used wicker, both for furniture and as storage vessels. Ever since, wicker has come to denote sturdiness and longevity. Due to its lightweight design and its rusty yet beautiful looks, it lends itself easily to outdoor patio furniture.

Benefits of outdoor wicker furniture:

The wicker weave suits almost all sorts of climatic conditions. The weave is heat and moisture resistant. So, it can easily be placed in areas where the sun is relentless or there is some amount of moisture. Synthetic wicker furniture can even withstand rain and other harsh climatic conditions. Its incredible resilience makes wicker furniture the best buy for all types of conditions.

Outdoor wicker furniture is lightweight yet sturdy. This mikes them very portable. At the same time, they do not topple over very easily. So, pieces of wicker furniture may easily be handled by young children. In your outdoor area, it may be necessary for people to move pieces of furniture around. Wicker is the best because it is lightweight but sturdy.

Wicker furniture is very comfortable. In itself, the furniture is cool and airy. Some people like to add fabric or foam padding to the furniture to make it plush and luxurious. Wicker lends itself easily to such additions.

One of the most obvious benefits of outdoor wicker furniture is maintenance. These pieces are easy to clean. On a regular basis, users only need to dust it with a light cloth. If dust settles into the crevices, it is possible to wash and dry synthetic wicker furniture. Once the pieces are washed, they are as good as new. Thus, these pieces of furniture have incredibly long lives. Low maintenance is a boon to families with small children as children can drop something over the furniture and the dirt will easily wash away.

Lastly, wicker furniture looks perfect out of doors. They gel beautifully with the rustic elements outside the house. They mesh well with plants and trees and bring a feeling of the great outdoors into your backyard.

Wicker furniture is ideally suited for the outdoors. Learn more about wicker outdoor furniture at UrbanHom.com

Email Compliance

The Benefits of Email Compliance in a Business

Email has become the standard method of correspondence used by businesses sending important and sometimes confidential messages. Such sensitive information needs to be archived for possible future use in order to comply with eDiscovery requests, specific regulations as well as the company’s email compliance policies.

Email correspondence is used for both internal and external affairs therefore it is important that a copy of all emails is archived for possible future needs relating to legal, compliance and human resource issues. A company must also be in a position to respond to eDiscovery requests at short notice.

Why a company needs email archiving

Existing regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and the FRCP treat emails as being equal to paper-based documents in terms of valid and legal documentation presented in a court of law and are therefore admissible during an eDiscovery request.

eDiscovery is the process of locating, securing and using documentation from a company’s archives in a legal setting, so a company must have the ability to procure the necessary documents with the confirmation that these have not been tampered with. Failure to abide by procedures could result in court fines and other financial burdens, as well as a failing reputation.

How email archiving should be implemented

For security, maintenance and resource reasons, email archives should not be archived on the mail server but should have their own localized server that is specific to the task.

Having your emails archived on a separate database ensures more protection for the archives should the server crash, as well as lightening the load on the server. When archiving is another process that the email server is meant to handle, its resources are being stretched to capacity risking poor performance in both tasks. A dedicated email server and a dedicated archiving server render the upkeep of both machines a simpler and cleaner process.

Moreover, separate backups of both servers ensure a safer environment, as by having the archived emails on a separate server, should the email server crash all is not lost since the archived emails would be accessible and easily recoverable meaning that work can be resumed from a certain point.

Email archiving compliance

In industries and countries where regulations require organizations to monitor user activity and keep audit trails, a system that records, logs and retains a database of user activity, or other secure methods such as encryption will ensure that emails have not been tampered with as this would render them inadmissible in a court of law. An auditing facility is also important for compliance purposes.

Log files and counts must prove that all emails (including their attachments) are being captured and can be searched for, found and viewed in their original format. Advising users that their emails are being recorded and archived will act as a deterrent to any abuse of the system.

Email archiving is becoming a standard practice in today’s businesses as the implementation of a successful email compliance policy could save a company a lot of time, money and resources, and provide guarantees that it is in a position to respond to eDiscovery processes and fulfil the requirements of compliance regulation which the company must adhere to.

Wool Rugs

Three Benefits of Adding Wool Rugs to Your Home

Rugs can play a very important role in your home décor. They can be elegant and stylish, or functional and practical; sometimes they can be all those attributes. Choosing the right rugs to add to your home is a personal choice and one that should be undertaken with great care. Certain types of rugs, all-natural mostly, can give a home a sense of prestige and wealth.

When deciding on what kind of rug to purchase for your home, you basically have two choices: man-made or synthetic, and wool. Wool rugs can provide a home with many benefits that other rugs simply do not have.

1. Wool rugs are flame-resistant and inflammable. They are much safer than synthetic rugs. Even if a flame should ignite (from a particle of something on the rug), it will put itself out immediately.

2. Wool rugs have the benefit of being long-lasting. They are durable, easy to clean and maintain, and, therefore, they have the potential to last for decades or generations. Wool rugs are truly a very good investment.

3. Wool rugs are resistant to dirt, dust, and bacteria. This factor makes them especially great to use around children and pets. They can also help prevent mold in your home as they absorb moisture from the air. They can help with the humidity levels in your home as well.

A wool rug is also resistant to static electricity and is a very good choice of rug for a child’s room. Because a wool rug is averse to collecting dust, it is a healthier and safer choice of rug for your child to be around and play on.

These rugs are also very easy to clean. All you need is mild soap and water; no potentially hazardous chemicals are required to assist in cleaning functions. This is a very important feature to health-conscious individuals and especially to those who have small children and pets around. Regular vacuuming is recommended to keep the rugs looking fresh. When you first purchase your wool rug, you may notice a few fibres dropping off every now and then. This is normal rug behaviour. The longer you own the wool rug, the fewer wool fibres that will end up coming out, and, therefore, cleaning efforts are further minimized.

Wool rugs are very popular interior design accent pieces due to their many benefits over synthetic rugs, as well as the look and feel of wool. More and more individuals are choosing natural wool rugs over man-made synthetic rugs. Some of the reasons have to do with the look and appeal of the rug as well as its many benefits. A wool rug can add a touch of warmth, class, and style to a home.

Such a wide range of designs exists in wool rugs today that it is another “plus” for adding a wool rug to your home as opposed to another variety. Wool rugs can be customised exclusively for your interior décor and your home’s needs. If you are considering a rug purchase, be sure to check out all your options. You will find there are many benefits to owning a wool rug.

Selling Property Privately

The benefits of selling property privately

Estate agent fees can take a chunk out of your equity or profit when you sell a house, whether it be your own home or an investment property. In the current climate, every penny counts, which is why more and more people are choosing to sell property privately rather than lose a percentage of the price to estate agencies when they can successfully market their house without using them.

Ditching the estate agents may seem like a scary step, but selling property privately is made easy when you use a company like Your Property Key. They help you to advertise your house privately so you can save on those fees and their useful selling guide can help the process to make more sense. Staying in control of selling your property is another benefit of private sales, because you can negotiate with potential buyers yourself, rather than always having to go through a third party. This can help to speed up the entire process and also means that you can keep things moving along regardless of estate agent office hours!

You can have a sales board up outside your home, you can have an online advert with photos, maps and local information available as well as a full description of your property – but without the hassle and fees of estate agents to worry about.  Of course, it makes sense to get a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to deal with the legal issues and paperwork once you have agreed a sale, but financially you can still make large savings when you choose to try selling property privately.

With a small one-off fee, your home can be advertised with high visibility online by Your Property Key, enabling the money you make from the sale to stay in your pocket rather than go to an estate agent.

Benefits of Installing a Home Water Softener System

If you live in an area that has hard water there are many reasons to add a water softening system to your home. When water has a high content of minerals it is considered hard water. Most commonly this means that there will be high amounts of dissolved calcium and magnesium. Water which is free of minerals other than sodium is considered soft water. When a home has a water supply that is hard there are many negative consequences including soap or shampoo that does not lather well, clothes coming out of the laundry looking dingy, bathroom fixtures which are left with chalky rings, clean glasses that will still show spots and water using appliances like coffee makers suffering from shortened lives.

In some areas chemicals are added to water on a city or water district wide basis to soften water before it reaches household pipes. In an area where this is not done it is up to the homeowner to invest in a water softening system. There are a number of different types of waters softeners for home including reverse osmosis, ion exchanging, chemical, magnetic and electric water softening system installations. Some water softeners will increase sodium levels which is not healthy for some people with heart issues. It is therefore important to choose a water softening system that will best work on the particular water hardness in your areas as well as any special needs you might have.

There are many conflicting claims regarding water hardness and health. Some studies have shown that hard water lead to some cardiovascular illnesses in men. The World Health Organization says that there is no correlation between water hardness and adverse health effects, that these studies had inadequate data.

There is little argument on the positive effects that installing a water softening system will have on washing dishes and doing laundry. Hard water prevents the lathering in soaps and detergents. When water is softened the richer lathers returns, clothes rinse cleaner and the amount of expensive detergents used can be reduced. In dishwasher hard water leaves spotting and residue on glasses and dishes as they dry. The mineral residue that is found on bathtubs or shower walls also is left behind on skin and hair. When a water softening installation is completed hair will feel softer and skin cleaner that it had previously. There is an ecological benefit to be found in the reduction on water usage that follows a change to softer water as well as the reduction in detergents and soaps.

Appliances that use water such as coffee makers, water heaters or even tea kettles will have much longer life spans after there a water softening system is installed. Scaling which is a deposit of calcium and magnesium is left behind as water is heated in these appliances. Pipes can become clogged with this scaling as well which can cause reduced water flow and eventually may lead to pipes needing to be replaced. While there is an expense that must be paid to install a water softener there is tremendous savings that can be realized by not having to repair or replace these items.
